Olive Can Fly

This project was a website redesign for a stained glass and flower preservation studio based in Liverpool. The client had a new logo so the site needed to be redesigned to reflect it. I worked closely with them to establish colour schemes, fonts, new content as well as resolving some technical issues.

Original site

As you can see the previous version of the website was mainly black, gold and white to reflect the original logo. The old-style serif font used in the subheadings were classic but a little outdated. The hero image was also very large, the client wanted to remove this and add smaller images for the different categories of their products. This would help the user to decide what they wanted quicker and boost conversion rates.

Wireframes

With the client’s needs in mind I created a set of wireframes for the homepage and a ‘Bespoke Commissions’ page which would be a new page on the site.

Design & development

As soon as the client was happy with the wireframes I set to work on redesigning the website through WordPress and developing the new pages. You can see that the new website looks much more modern and quirky, just like the new logo. The new site also displays what the studio offers more clearly, from workshops to products. I kept consistency across the whole site and added new features such as reviews.

Final product

Here is the completed website presented on various devices.
