About me
Hi I’m Nicola, a UX/UI web designer, frontend developer and digital marketer based in Liverpool (UK). I’m currently seeking a junior/mid role in any of these fields but I am also available for freelance work. I’m naturally creative, hard working, well organised with an open mind to new ideas.
Since I graduated in 2010 I have explored a wide variety of job roles, most of which were related to my media degree (e.g. content creator). In 2021, despite being disrupted by the pandemic, I completed an apprenticeship in web development and earned several qualifications. But most importantly I gained valuable skills in designing and building websites. Over the years I have also worked as digital marketer specialising in social media marketing and content curation.
In the ‘Projects’ section you will see examples of my work where I demonstrate my skills, particularly in web design. In the ‘Services’ section I have outlined three packages that I can offer you and your business, whether you’re starting from scratch or just want a refresh. Collaboration is key so we’ll work together every step of the way.
Web Design & UX
I design thoughtful, user-focused websites that balance clarity and creativity. My process starts with wireframes in Whimsical to map out structure and flow, followed by interactive prototypes in Figma so everything feels intentional before we build. The goal is always a website that’s easy to navigate, visually calm, and aligned with your audience’s needs.
Web Development
I build responsive, reliable websites that are easy to maintain and grow with you. Depending on your needs, I work with HTML and CSS plus platforms like Framer, WordPress, Carrd, and Wix (depending on your needs) to create clean, functional sites that work smoothly across devices — without unnecessary complexity.
Digital Marketing & Social
I can boost your online presence beyond your website with thoughtful digital marketing and social media support. This includes content curation and social media planning, helping you communicate clearly and stay consistent across platforms without feeling overwhelmed. Everything is designed to work alongside your website, not separately from it.
Recent projects
JAW Innovation Group
A freelance project for JAW Innovation Group who specialise in AI software and bespoke software in the health industry. Includes wireframes and site designs.
Olive Can Fly
A redesign of an existing website for a stained glass and flower preservation studio based in Liverpool. Includes wireframes, processes plus before and after images.
DJ Kessey
A landing page site for a fictional DJ (personal project) that features Spotify mixes, a short biography and tour dates. Includes branding, wireframes and site designs.
Flowhaus Yoga Studio
A six page website (personal project) for a fictional yoga studio promoting yoga, Zumba and wellness. The site features information about classes and instructors plus a timetable and contact form. Includes branding, wireframes and site designs.
Nicola is a very conscientious, hardworking and dedicated web developer with a high attention to detail. She picks up coding languages really well and considering she completed her apprentice during COVID has done outstandingly well. Nicola was a pleasure to work with and is a strong member of any team. I would recommend Nicola to any team looking for a dedicated junior web dev with a creative eye. A rare trait in the development world.
